Construction standards
Roof and Realm factory-built homes are designed with a focus on durability. They are engineered to endure the rigors of transportation and gain even greater stability once placed on-site. The factory construction process by Roof and Realm is highly efficient, leading to reduced on-site building timeframes.
Constructed from steel, Roof and Realm homes exhibit enhanced resistance to water damage. Unlike wood, steel does not undergo warping or expansion, and it is impervious to rot, reducing the likelihood of fungal growth. Additionally, the metal structure provides an added advantage in terms of fire resistance.
Roof and Realm Foundation System
Realm uses a slab foundation system with parameter footings that avoid the need for bricklaying below ground. Instead, the trench is almost completely filled with concrete.
Realm stem walls, when coupled with the concrete foundation, essentially support the walls that join the foundation of a building to the vertical elements of the structure. Stem walls are especially important in areas prone to earthquakes, flooding, and other natural events.
Realm slab foundations use large, thick slabs of concrete that are typically 4”-6” thick in the center and poured directly on the ground all at one time. The edges of the slab are thicker (as wide as 24”) in order to allow for extra strength around the perimeter.
