Construction standards
Roof and Realm factory-built homes are built for strength. They’re constructed to withstand the effects of transportation and are even sturdier once they’re on site. Roof and Realm factory construction is efficient and reduces on-site building schedules.
Roof and Realm homes are made of durable steel are more resistant to water damage. Steel will not warp or expand like wood does. And it does not rot, so it will be less likely to attract fungus. Another benefit to a metal structure is its fire resistance.
Roof and Realm Foundation System
Realm uses a slab foundation system with parameter footings that avoid the need for bricklaying below ground. Instead, the trench is almost completely filled with concrete.
Realm stem walls, when coupled with the concrete foundation, essentially support the walls that join the foundation of a building to the vertical elements of the structure. Stem walls are especially important in areas prone to earthquakes, flooding, and other natural events.
Realm slab foundations use large, thick slabs of concrete that are typically 4”-6” thick in the center and poured directly on the ground all at one time. The edges of the slab are thicker (as wide as 24”) in order to allow for extra strength around the perimeter.
